Yapımına 2009'un ilk çeyreğinde başlanan salon geçtiğimiz cuma günü törenle açılışa sunuldu. yaklaşık 3.000 magic fanının bulunduğu seromonide salon anahtarı Alex Martins'e teslim edildi.
480 milyon dolara mal olan salon 20.000 kişilik kapasitesi ile birçok organizasyon'a ev sahipligi yapacak 14.000 kombine satışı ile francise rekoru kıran salon daha şimdiden konser ve etkinlikler ile ilgi odağı olmuş durumda.
Salon ayrıca 2012 nba all star'a ev sahipliği yapacak..
