Mamelodi Sundowns centre back Siyanda Xulu has been granted permission by the club to go for trials with Russian Club FC Rostov.
The lanky youngster jets out of the country tonight (Monday) in a bid to fulfil his dream of playing abroad.
Xulu, who has played for the national team Bafana Bafana, has had several trials in both Europe and England. He had a trial at Spanish giants Barcelona, and also with English giants Arsenal. Nothing came of these trials, although there were also reports of interest from Atletico Madrid.
Xulu was recalled from the Mamelodi Sundowns camp in Swaziland and returned at the weekend.
He will be following in the footsteps of the towering Matthew Booth, who also had a spell in Russia before returning to Sundowns two seasons ago.
He will also be linking up with Nigerian Isaac Okworonko, who will be useful in terms of helping the young Xulu to settle in Russia.
