Newcastle could be set to win the race to sign highly-rated Turkish winger Arda Turan.
Magpies boss Kevin Keegan is understood to be on the lookout for replacements for Damien Duff and Emre, who both look set to leave St James’ Park this summer.
And Keegan is thought to be in pole position to see off competition from the likes of Middlesbrough and Tottenham to secure the signature of the £11million-rated Galatasaray star.
Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut has confirmed that one club has shown an interest in the two-footed 21-year-old.
"One club is talking to Galatasaray and asking them to name their price," Turan said in the Sunday Sun.

The Magpies are thought to be eager to complete the deal for the player before the beginning of Euro 2008, where Turan is tipped to make a considerable impression. However, the Turkish club would prefer a deal after the tournament, when the 21 year old’s value could sky-rocket.
The Turkish international has already played 66 times for Galatasaray and the club would be reluctant to move one of their prized assets on at such an early stage in his career. However, the player’s ability and potential will inevitably lead him away from the Ali Sami Yen stadium.
A club source revealed to The News Of The World: “The club want to at least wait until Euro 2008 is over. The offer will be considered and they will sell. They have to be seen to try to keep their best players or the club’s fans will go crazy.”
