Goal.com Oyuncu ratingleri
Fenerbahçe
Volkan - 7: Powerless to stop the goal. Was energetic and alert in dealing with everything that came his way.
Önder - 5.5: Was caught flat-footed in defence on more than one occasion, but his offensive contribution improved throughout the game.
Lugano - 6.5: Strong and hard to beat at the back. Did his best to match the imperious Didier Drogba all game.
Edu - 5.5: Was a little slow on occasion and late in the odd challenge. An average performance.
Vederson - 5.5: Roberto Carlos' deputy proved to be a lot like his far superior senior. Adventurous and quite a threat going forward, but on a couple of occasions was bested by the formidable duo of Joe Cole and Michael Essien. Improved in the second half.
Maldonado - 5.5: Fairly anonymous and failed to stamp his authority on the game.
Aurélio - 7.5: Was at the centre of much of his side's play and played brilliantly. A solid showing in the middle of the park was capped by a fantastic pass over the top to set up the equaliser. Man of the Match.
Boral - 5: Has been a form player in recent times, but wasn't able to get the space out on the left to prove a threat. Substituted early in the first half.
Deivid - 7: Could be seen as unlucky in scoring the own goal, but it was slightly unnecessary to stick a foot out with as much urgency as he did. was otherwise lacking in a creative capacity and didn't have the fight to contend in midfield. However, all was forgiven 10 minutes from time when he produced an absolutely incredible strike to give his side the victory.
Alex - 5.5: Fairly anonymous in a game that will have disappointed the star playmaker. Not known for any defensive prowess, and rarely involved as he would have liked going forward. Well-marked by Claude Makélélé.
Kežman - 6: Hard to fault for his effort. He played to his strengths and little more could have been expected of him, but had little service and was often left two on one.
Substitutes: Kazim Kazim - 8 (dynamic and brilliant when scoring the goal), Şentürk - 6 (full of energy).
Chelsea
Cudicini - 6: Untroubled and untested - until the two goals! Was powerless to stop them and could not be faulted.
Essien - 6.5: Played with tremendous enthusiasm despite being out of position. Caused a problem or two going forward, defended well against the threat of Uğur Boral.
Carvalho - 5: Didn't have a lot to do, but was caught out a couple of times, most crucially when Kazim-Richards scored the equaliser.
Terry - 6.5: Looked practically unbeatable every time anything came his way. Strong in the air - which was crucial - and solid along the ground. Could have been in a better position to help stop Kazim scoring the equaliser, but his partner Carvalho was chiefly at fault.
A. Cole - 6: Next to nothing was required of the former Arsenal man in a defensive capacity. Played an able deputy to Florent Malouda going forward, but was barely involved.
Ballack - 6.5: A strong showing from the German icon, who was composed in his passing and worked hard in midfield all game. Somewhat ruined his night by failing to take a good chance with the scores level.
Makélélé - 7: An absolute rock playing a role in front of the back four which has, in modern times, been named after him. Allowed Alex - Fenerbahçe's star player - absolutely no space, and distributed possession efficiently.
Lampard - 6: Not a display to remember from a man still recovering from illness. He drifted out of the game for large periods, his set-pieces were disappointing. He was at least by and large tidy in possession, but did not star as he would have liked and looked disappointed to be substituted, but it was the correct decision..
J. Cole - 6.5: A tricky customer as usual. Generally looks more of a threat on the right hand side. Was always a good outlet going forward, but was not in the game as much as he would have liked in the second half.
Drogba - 5: Had all the energy you could ask for and one good effort on goal, but was otherwise wasteful and just a little bit selfish.
Malouda - 6: Active and regularly involved in Chelsea's attacks. Did well in the build-up to the goal and regularly made space for himself, even if he didn't always make the most of it. Drifted out of the game in the second period.
Substitutes: Mikel - n/a, Anelka - n/a.
