Arastirma grubunun bunu okumasini isterim.
just got the game today and started poking around with the editor to see if the Turkish research wes improved from the previous year.
Unsuprisingly, the research is still very poor and I have compiled a 3 page list of problems with just one team (Galatasaray), and this list is not as complete as I could make it if I were to spend another couple of hours on it.
I am about to lose all confidence in the Turksportal group to get this data right. Forget right, make it at least playable.
Here is a statistic for you. Out of the 17 top Turkish players (CA > 140) playing in Turkey, 2 of them never play for their teams (and have not played regularly since the 03-04 season) in real life (Emre Asik and Okan Koc) and 3 of them do not even play in the top division (Umit Ozan Kazmaz, Abdullah Ercan and Elvir Bolic). That's almost 30% of the best players according to the database.
In the meanwhile players like Volkan Demirel, Stjepan Tomas, Gokhan Zan who are key regulars for the top clubs in Turkey are made out to be lesser players by the research team.
Finances are wrong, match days and televised games wrong, the fact that Nobre is a loan player at Fenerbahce is not reflected. Despite the ease with which player heights and weights can be found on the internet, even for the most famous of players, these are missing.
Fenerbahce Captain, Umit Ozat has only 13 attributes filled out of a possible 43 (Excludes GK only attribues).
So 30 of the attributes are RANDOM!! These random attributes include tackling and positioning. One would think those would be the attributes that are easiest to rate for a defender who plays every single match for his team and regularly plays for the national team. But not in Turkey. Add to this the following high reputation players with many random attributes:
Tuncay Sanli, 20 attributes are random.
Serkan Balci, 24 attributes random.
Marco Aurelio, 27 attributes random
Zafer Biryol, 35 attributes random
Ibrahim Toraman and Ibrahim Akin, 38 attributes are random.
Ibrahim Uzulmez, 26 atttributes random.
Gokhan Zan, 41 attributes random.
Cihan Haspolatli, 28 attributes random
Umit Karan, 24 attributes random
Gokdeniz Karadeniz, 27 attributes random
Huseyin Cimsir, 40 attributes random
Celaleddin Kocak, 36 attributes random
Except for Ibrahim Akin, all of these players have been regulars in the Turkish first division and all but Celaleddin Kocak and Marco Aurelio have played for the national team in the last couple of years. I don't even want to get into players who are not playing for top teams. More than half the starting lineup for these teams all have random attributes and you would be lucky to see a CA representative of the player's ability for these players.
I can understand getting 2nd division teams or even newly promoted teams' players wrong, but it is just unforgivable that the teams who are very much in the spotlight all the time are so poorly researched. Especially since every week the matches of Besiktas, Fenerbahce, Galatasaray as well as Trabzonspor are televised. Not to mention about half a page on just about any newspaper is dedicated to news items for these teams.
Perhaps a change in leadership is required with the Turkish league so that it gets the TLC it has needed in every version since CM4.
DoctorBalendar: I hope you visit this thread again and see this post. As a head researcher who obviously puts time and effort into the Greek league (I applaud you and your team for it, after a quick perusal, I can at least say that for top teams many players have many if not all attributes filled), I am somewhat suprised of your defense of the Turksportal team. It is clear as day (at least to me, and perhaps many others) that the effort is just not there on their part. This has been evident since CM4 as I mentioned. I am not looking to slag anyone, but if the Turksportal folks are unable to find the time to dedicate to research, then perhaps everyone would be better off with a set of researchers who are willing to at least put in the effort.
