Contrasting with press clippings suggesting that Basinas is hesitant towards moving to the Turkish league, player representative Paul Koutsoliakos, made the following statement:
"The player has informed his club, as he was due, about Galatasaray's interest to acquire him. He has agreed with Galatasaray in everything and is awaiting for the agreement between the clubs.
