Newcastle are trying to offload £3m-a-year midfielder Geremi, who is keen to revive a move to Turkish giants Besiktas.
Striker Obafemi Martins yesterday completed his £9m move to Wolfsburg, as exclusively revealed in Sportsmail, and the club hope to raise more funds with Geremi's sale to Turkey.
The ex-Chelsea player, 30, is reportedly picking up £58,000 a week at St James' Park and has a year left on his contract. Olympiakos have shown interest but German side Cologne have already been put off by his wage demands.
